Chip maker Broadcom has unveiled no fewer than three new mobile-themed hunks of silicon this week in preparation for MWC in just a few days’ time. You ready for this? Alright, first up we’ve got the catchily-named BCM20751, which performs the rather ordinary tasks of GPS, Bluetooth, and FM radio management but also throws in an audio processor to offload some work from the phone’s primary CPU, which the company says can reduce battery consumption enough to improve playback time by up to 100 percent in some situations.

The majority of the wireless music options we’ve seen rocking Kleer have, to this point, been of the ear bud variety — nice, but not if you’re more of a can man. For those who like a little more heft, welcome to TDK’s TH-WR700 wireless headphones, a $190 set that still looks to be too small if you’re going for the completely immersive over-the-ear style, but are said to provide less noise than comparable Bluetooth units and pledge to perform with 32Ω impedance, 20Hz-20kHz frequency response, and 108 dB/mW sensitivity

Dare we say that circular-shaped mice are actually becoming a trend? Swooping in like a ball on Newton’s Cradle is the OreObject SPHEREtouch mouse to knock the Jelfin mouse on its head. Though this time we’ve got to admit the pricey SPHEREtouch has us rather intrigued. Not only is the handmade mouse available in your choice of steel, titanium and platinum, but OreObject has shaken things up with a large horizontal scroll wheel and two touch-sensitive buttons. Mac and PC compatible, it all sounds interesting and looks very pretty until you realize that the steel version starts at $155 and that the platinum one will set you back $225. For that kind of money, we’d at least expect them to cut the cord for some Bluetooth. But hey, if you’ve always wanted at least one indestructible ball of steel that source link has your name all over it.
