We came, we saw, and we’re still scratching our heads over what Oforpera is up to with its Mobile World Congress demonstration of its Opera Mini browser running on the iPhone 3GS. But before we get into that, let’s talk performance: it’s fast. Opera Mini is very, very fast on the iPhone

During Mobile World Congress 2010, Opera showed off their Opera Mini web browser working on the iPhone and apparently outperformed the iPhone native browser in virtually every way and is apparently a great deal faster reports an article over on information week . Opera has 2 mobile browsers, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile which the main difference being Opera Mobile is a ‘full on-device browser’ while Opera Mini utilises Opera’s proxy and compression service.

RIM CEO claims we are staring ‘down the barrel of a capacity crunch,’ should all get BlackBerrys to prevent it

Capacity crunch, isn’t that a breakfast cereal? RIM’s Mike Lazaridis seems to have been a real grouch at MWC this week as apparently he hasn’t stopped talking about the doom and gloom awaiting mobile carriers over the next few years. Focusing on the bandwidth-hungry North American market, Lazaridis has criticized the apparently irresponsible network saturation growth, which he sees as being primarily driven by app-centric operating systems. If you’re wondering who he could possibly be referring to, let Mike clarify it — according to him, you could carry five BlackBerry devices for each iPhone on a network. As evidence of his firm’s focus on efficiency, he points us to that freshly demoed WebKit browser, which he claims uses a third of the bandwidth required by the competition from Apple and Google. If only he wasn’t implying that owning a BlackBerry would save the internet, Mike’s sales pitch would be rather compelling — those are mighty impressive numbers he is citing.

We may be way off base here, but we’re pretty sure the game just got upended. Days after AT&T appeased the masses by finally enabling 3G streaming over the iPhone’s SlingPlayer app , Verizon Wireless has one-upped that gesture in a big gargantuan way.

Fisher-Price iXL is a tweener that no kid needs convincing of

“But mommy…it’s like your Kindle and Daddy’s iPod Touch! I want one NOW!” Yep, that’s how the discovery of Fisher Price’s iXL is going to go down in the Toys R US aisle, like it or not. In what we can only compare to a shrunken Entourage Edge, the $80 clamshell device is meant for 3-to-6 year olds that are just learning to read and write, and it packs a color, resistive touchscreen and a plastic stylus. While some tots may complain about the not-very-finger-friendly display or the rather chunky and heavy design, Fisher gets that it’s all about the software. In addition to the “app based” home screen (which we were told was modeled after the iPhone or iPad), the iXL comes preloaded with games, an animated story book and other applications — additional children’s e-books will be available for download from its online store when the device goes on sale this summer. Using a Mac or a PC, parents can also sideload those illustrated titles, as well as pictures and MP3s using the onboard USB port. Well, you heard the kids… they want it now!

Yes folks apparently that iPhone trademark which Apple has been using was in question as for years there has been a battle between Apple, Canadian firm Cornwave and Cisco who said they owned the iPhone trademark.
