Sony Ericsson Aspen caught on video, loving life with WinMo 6.5.3

Chances are we’re missing something incredibly awesome being said in this foreign-language video, but we can probably guess what Mobile-review Sergey Kuzmin is saying: “I’ve got the Sony Ericsson Aspen and you don’t. Over the last several months complaints that Panasonic’s plasma HDTVs experience sudden adverse changes in their black levels after a certain number of viewing hours have been piling up in an AVSForum thread, and now that behavior has been confirmed, though not very well explained, in a response the company sent to CNET today: In order to achieve the optimal picture performance throughout the life of the set, Panasonic Viera plasma HDTVs incorporate an automatic control which adjusts an internal driving voltage at predetermined intervals of operational hours. It’s been almost three years since Cisco and the DoD announced the IRIS project. Short for Internet Routing in Space, the idea is to route IP traffic between satellites instead of bouncing it on and off ground stations. The whole thing has moved forward steadily since we first caught wind of it, culminating with the launch of the first Cisco Space Router aboard an Atlas V rocket last November.

EROS Shenzhen tablet has Atom, 2 hours of battery life and a $450 price tag

Our guess is that the EROS tablet got caught in customs on its way to join its tablet friends at CES. Poor kid. Regardless, the 10.1-inch 1366×768 resistive touchscreen device still deserves its time to in the sun. Powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive, it runs Windows 7 (we’re hoping Home Premium since Starter doesn’t support touch). It all sounds fairly good until you hear about its three-cell battery’s abysmal hour and a half of run time. And we’ve also got to say that it looks pretty chunky in the pictures, but most Wintel tablets are. But hey, maybe HP and Microsoft will change all that with the Slate. But if the EROS has struck your fancy, it looks to only be available in China for about 3,000 yuan or $441.

Gadgets That Really Change Life

Too often we think about gadgets like small devices made for us to have fun: mp3 players, cell phones, PDA’s, music players. So we forget about the ones made to help people and really change their life.

This article is about the gadgets that improve people life and aren’t so known as party and funny gadgets. I’m going to talk about the gadgets built for people with disabilities, devices that help this people to have a better life. The majority of these gadgets are made for the blinds so I will start with those.

Electronic eyes

This high-tech device recognizes the white stripes of a pedestrian crosswalk and reads traffic lights could tell a blind person when it’s safe to cross the street. The electronic eyes are being developed at Kyoto Institute of Technology.

Braille PDA’s and computers

The Braille Display allows blind users to use standard computers or PDA devices. The Braille gadgets use refreshable Braille displays, which raise small dots through holes in a flat surface to create Braille that refreshes as the user inputs commands. So a blind person will be able to play music, read books, take notes, making presentations or reviewing/editing documents.

PC with a screen reader

Screen readers access information displayed on computer monitors and interpret that information via text-to-speech output. This software must be used along with text to speech synthesizers to allow the blinds to use the computer easy.IBM offers Home Page Reader, special software to read and navigate Web pages for those who are blind.

Cell phone with Talks software

Talks software was created by Cingular Wireless. With it a blind person will have full access to the capabilities of the cell phone using only his voice.

Other usual gadgets for blinds are: Braille and talking clocks, Braille color-identification labels for clothing, tactile writing and signature guides, talking calculators and magnifiers.

For deaf persons there are several helpful gadgets which I will tell you about.

Portable amplifiers

These are small devices that can be easily carried and they are used to provide increased sound amplification.

Telecommunication devices

The telecommunication devices for deaf have typewriter keyboards, and the typed conversation appears either in a readout display or on paper.

Telecaption Adapters

The adapter is attached to television set. These enable viewers to read captions on their television screen.

Alerting gadgets

Now a deaf person can know when someone knocks at the door, when the baby is crying or the telephone is ringing. All these are possible because of the alerting systems. An alerting system for deaf will send a signal if: the baby is crying, the doorbell rings, telephone rings, the smoke alarm systems is on, the security alarms or the wake up alarm was started. The signal may be visual (a flashing light); auditory (an increase in amplification); or vibrotactile.

For the ones without hands or fingers there are some new gadgets designed to improve their life.

X-Finger

X-Finger is medical gadget replaces lost fingers created by Dan Didrick. X-Finger is a non-robotic prosthetic finger, or set of multiple fingers, with a full range of motion, including being able to curl like normal fingers.

The Bionic Hand

The Bionic Hand was created by David Gow. It is unique because thumb and fingers can move and grip just like a human hand and it is unique because it is uses patients mind and muscles control the movements.

So when you hear the word gadgets don’t think only to a device to have fun with, think about devices that improve people life, especially the ones with disabilities.

Kitchen gadgets make cooking, cleaning and anything in the kitchen a little easier. With the present day kitchen gadgets surely one is required to spend far less time and effort for that king of work. Microwave oven

A microwave oven or microwave uses microwave radiation primarily to cook or heat food. Microwave ovens heat food without getting hot themselves.They are so popular because reduce the time for cocking or heating food.

Silicone has been added to kitchen tools and gadgets ranging from bake ware to meat tenderizers, and just about everything in between, giving home chefs the opportunity to enjoy the various benefits of silicone in the kitchen. Silicone rolling pins allow you to use less flour on pastries, flexible silicone colanders fold right up for compact storage, and color coded silicone measuring cups make for easy reference when cooking or baking in the kitchen.Also rainbow colors are available to transform cocking into joy.

There are plenty shops in the local market that provides a range of kitchen gadgets, but it is always recommended to make purchases from the authorized dealers. You can always buy all sorts of gadgets online. Before you purchase a new gadget for your kitchen it is a good idea to read some gadget reviews, blogs and forums. You will find a lot of quality information this way and you will save time and money.

Budget

Kitchen gadget price may vary so you will find to buy from very cheap ones to luxury, very expensive gadgets. The cheapest gadgets are to be found in online shops and they are bought by people who want to cook fast and make some savings in the same time.But not every one is trying to make saving when shopping for kitchen tools. Some people look for unusual, cool designed, luxury ones. The cult of kitchen gadgets is not limited to any particular socioeconomic class, but a lot can be gleaned about a household from the machines they keep on their countertops. However, brands such as Sub-Zero and Garland have become to the kitchen what Mercedes or BMW are to the garage.

In conclusion

The machines we keep in our kitchens allow us to make more of our meals, but at the same time they make the process of cooking easier all around. This era saw the invention of many new kitchen gadgets, including the apple peeler, other specialized peelers, the mechanical eggbeater, the mechanical dough mixer, bread toasters, potato mashers, coffee grinders, food choppers, and waffle irons. This kitchen gadget grabs onto what you’re cooking like an extra pair of hands.

So kitchen gadgets offer a multitude of benefits for the home cook making the life in the kitchen easier than ever.
