We’d already seen first hand what kind of GPU improvements Apple made with the iPhone 3GS (in comparison to the iPhone 3G, anyway), but if you’ve ever wondered how Cupertino’s latest stacked up against Google’s Nexus One in the graphical department, your answer is just a click away. The technical gurus over at Distinctive Developments set out to determine which handset was capable of pushing more frames per second when really taxed, and through a series of pinpoint tests, they discovered that the Nexus One (in general) lagged behind.

Nexus One 3G problems persist after update — is it a design problem?

Looks like someone at Google should fast forward those Nexus One design videos to the radio integration portion and figure out what went wrong, because it seems like the 3G coverage problem still hasn’t been fixed , even after that last big OTA update . What’s more, many in Google’s support forums are noting that the phone will drop a weaker 3G signal merely when held by the bottom, as the video below clearly shows. Oops

Google has offered a price cut to its early termination fee for its Nexus One phone, this device launched January 2010 with Equipment Recovery Fee of $350 and of course an early termination fee by T-Mobile. Well now it seems according to Mobiletor that Google has dropped the price to $150 and any ETF fixed by the carrier, the $350 device recovery fee is a little expensive especially when you add it up with T-Mobile charging for ETF of $150

HTC Dragon and friends turn up on Dopod roadmap

The HTC Dragon may not be quite the same mythical beast it once was now that the Nexus One has stolen some of its thunder, but it is still an actual device and, according to a recently leaked Dopod roadmap, it’s headed for China in the second quarter of this year. Details are otherwise a bit light, but it is apparently an Android device (as expected) and packs a 3.6-inch WVGA display. Joining it over the course of the year are the 3.4-inch, Android-based A6388, the 4.3-inch Huashan (apparently now a Windows Mobile device — possibly an HD2 successor?), the 3.2-inch Tianshan, and the considerably smaller Songshan phone, both of which are also Android phones, and should be out in either Q3 or Q4.

Google manage 80k Nexus One Sales in January, no iPhone killer yet
February 8, 2010 by gizmo

Well according to sales figures for the Google Nexus One superphone, it hasn’t been making super sales as the smartphone only shifted 20,000 in its debut week and for the rest of January continued along at the same rate bringing the total figure of Nexus One handsets sold to 80,000 reports mobiletor . Basically this means that the much hyped Nexus One is no way an iPhone killer, at least not yet as when compared with other first month sales such as the Verizon Motorola Droid which shifted some 525,000 in its debut month, and the iPhone which shifted some 600,000 handset on its debut, the Nexus One falls somewhat short. The 80,000 Nexus One handset sold for January comes via a Flurry report, and apparently Google’s lack of Nexus One advertising may have had something to do with such low sales.
