The best chefs know that great cooking requires measuring by weight, not volume. Enter the Digital Measuring Cup and Scale. An easy-to-read LCD screen has been integrated into the cup’s handle and displays the weight of its contents. Accurate to within an eighth of an ounce, the Digital Measuring Cup and Scale can easily switch between six different units of measurements. With only three buttons, it’s easy to operate, but still incredibly powerful. Use the tare function to weigh multiple ingredients without ever emptying the cup. Switch between flour, sugar, milk, water, and oil modes and the Digital Measuring Cup and Scale automatically converts the weight to volume. Scale capacity of 6.6 lbs. www.vat19.com

Yes, it has an on/off button. It will also automatically shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity. Many recipes use fractions of ounces and that is why the manufacturer chose to display in 1/8 increments. However, this wouldn’t be handy for your particular case in which they use 10ths of an ounce. Sorry!

  9. newbirth35 says:

1/8 ounce increments is useless because my food journal uses 10ths and there’s no way to change that. What happened to decimals?

I didn’t notice – does it have an off button?

This scale measures pounds and grams in addition to ounces, fluid ounces, and milliliters. Simply press the “unit button” to switch the display between the different units of measurement. It does not display tenths of an ounce, but rather in 1/8th ounce increments.

I wouldn’t say this is a must have, I personally do fine with the scales and measuring cups I already have, but its still a neat idea.

0:49 check out that acuracy ;)

5 3/8 oz. How does 3/8 of something help me with my diet. My food journal uses measurements like 5.6 oz, etc.

Sorry, but I think I’ll skip this and keep with my digital scale. It measures not just oz., but pounds, grams and kilograms. If I need 33g of pancake mix I can weigh it out exactly.
